It uses your phone's metering setting (recommend: Matrix metering) to analyze the scene and compute the Exposure Value (EV). Using these, it tells you the ISO, Aperture & Shutter speeds that need to be set to correctly expose the scene. This utility functions as a reflective light meter for those situations where you might not have one handy.
