FindDroid aims at minimizing the damages stemming from stolen or lost mobile devices, from remote controlling to the repossession of the device. Security services:

• SIM protection: the device sends text to a given phone number, if the SIM card is changed and activates all protective functions

Remote control possibilities:

• defining location based on GPS coordinates

• in case of a wrong passcode being entered to unlock the device, FindDroid takes a picture using the front camera and sends it to a predefined e-mail address, enabling the identification of the thief

The application enables GPS, mobile data and Wi-Fi connections automatically if they are deactivated, and it tries to define the location of the device. In case of being lost, it helps in finding the device by audible alarm notifications and using GPS coordinates, whereas all protective functions are activated in case of theft. FindDroid does not drain battery since it only launches when the activation message is received, therefore battery life is preserved.
