The Drive Textless Application is designed to eliminate driving distractions by activating Airplane Mode when a specified speed threshold is detected. Text messages, eMails, and phone calls will be deferred by Airplane Mode. When the speed drops below that threshold, the text, eMail and telephone features will be automatically restored.
Drive Textless will start automatically when the phone is booted, and activates the GPS radio, if necessary. The threshold speed and polling frequency are settable by the administrator(parent) and can be password protected. If both a phone number and eMail address are provided, the app will check in periodically with our servers, and will notify the eMail address provided should this check in cease. We can't prevent the user from stopping or removing the app, but our network will notify you if the app stops running. If the user deletes the app we will replace it free of charge.
The administrator can set the minimum speed at which Airplane mode is activated, and the frequency in minutes when speed polling occurs. Frequent speed polling uses GPS and frequent polling can reduce battery charge. The default threshold speed is 12 MPH and polling occurs every 4 minutes.
The telephone number entered does not have to be the actual number of the phone, just a number that allows the parent to identify which device has stoppped checking in.
No user data, including location and speed data is ever transmitted to us - only the phone number and eMail provided are stored on our servers.
While this app makes every effort to prevent telephone and text distractions while driving, many factors including, but not limited to, lack of reliable GPS signal, inability to achieve network communication, user hacking or phone rooting may render this app temporarily or permanently ineffective.
No warranty, either expressed or implied exists as to the effectiveness of this application.
