DisasterTalk(TM) (formerly DisasterCom) is a texting app you can use to communicate with a team of people where there are not many communication options available such as in a disaster area. We have launched this app for dedicated use in case of a disaster or rescue scenario for communication between various parties involved. This app can transmit messages to another iPhone up to 30 feet away without the need for wi-fi and also through a meshwork of iPhones nearby to possibly longer ranges. This app does not guarantee that the message sent will be received by another party as it depends on the distance of the iPhone and that iPhone should be running this app on the foreground. Coordinated effort to keep the team members within reasonable distance of up to 30 feet of another member and running of this app on the foreground (not in the background) to create a largest possible range of communication is required for proper operation of this app. If other reliable methods of communication are available, they should be preferred over this app.
