Decibel Level Meter uses your smart phone to calculate noise level or sound pressure in dB.

INTRODUCTIONS:

Decibel Level Meter is a simple tool which is used to calculate the decibel. The program will convert your android powered device into a simple tool that will be used to measure the voice and the sound in the room.

INSTRUCTIONS:

This app is not designed to give precise readings. Its purpose is to give average readings over time. SPL(sound pressure level) meter app Decibel Level Meter uses your built-in microphone to measure noise volume in decibels(db), and shows a reference. We had calibrated many android devices with the actual sound level meter with dB(A).

REMEMBER!! The smart phone microphones were aligned to human voice (300-3400Hz, 40-60dB).Therefore the maximum values are LIMITED by the hardware limitation, and very loud sound cannot be recognized.

NOTE:

Microphones in Android devices are made to record human voice, therefore the maximum noise is limited and very loud sounds cannot be recognized. We have adjusted Decibel Level Meter with the use of professional sound meter and made required adjustments for many Android devices, including the most popular devices on the market today.

1. Due to microphone limitations on different devices the meter range is different, usually the low end of the scale cannot be achieved because of the microphone noise and the upper end of the scale is limited by the microphone distortion on high levels.

2. If you have measuring problems or doesn't work at all, try to disable "Use high sampling rate" in settings, restart the device and recalibrate.
