I think all of us have walked into a meeting, a school class, or other event and had the embarrassing moment of your phone ringing during the most quiet portion of the event. I also know that a lot of us remember to turn the phone off going into the event, but leave it off resulting in unhappy significant others, family members, and friends. :(

This app aims to run in the background and scan the calendars you select. All you have to do, is download, go to settings, select the calendar(s), select a frequency (how often to scan), and attach to the calendar(s). If the event is marked as busy, and the current time is between the event times, it will turn the sound off on your phone or tablet. Otherwise, the sound will be where previously set.

Once set up, sit back and smile at your intelligent decision when a coworker's phone goes off in the middle of that "important" meeting. Then you should let him/her in on the secret of how you always remember to have your phone on / off. :)

P.S. Please send me bugs. I'm only one person, and I don't own an Android phone; just a tablet. I tested with friends' devices, but not extensively, so I'm sure there are bugs. Thanks for being patient.
