Colonial Bistro Cafe is re-opening at its original site at the Ellison Building at Selegie Road. With a rich history since 1924, serving the early colonial governors enjoying the Sunday races from its rooftop, through the Second World War, this iconic location truly has a rich heritage, and has seen its fair share of glorious days and forgotten moments.
"We are excited to offer entertainment, or recreation as they will call it back in those days; that appeal to today's customers in an iconic location such as this. Many people our generation are seeking their roots these days, wondering how it was like, old buildings, lifestyles, etc. Chinese, Peranakans, travelers from Europe and UK who travel to Singapore, alike. This location started as early as the 'modern' Colonial era, and the fact that this two-storey building was once the tallest building in Singapore, still amaze many."
