“California Gardens North” is an easy-to-use mobile travel-guide app to exploring the finest publicly-accessible gardens from Monterey north to Humboldt County and east to the Sierra foothills.

The app allows you to select from 25 garden styles (Asian, Botanical, Cottage, Rose, Winery, etc.) and sort them by 16 areas of the state. Each location includes a concise description, photos, interactive location maps, fees (most of them are free), opening hours, and links to related websites.

David Laws is a garden and travel writer/photographer based on the Monterey Peninsula. His articles on western garden and travel topics have been published in the San Francisco Chronicle, San Francisco Examiner, San Jose Mercury News, The Oregonian, and other publications.
