Maybe a scenario can help explain what Calc My Share is designed to do.
You go to the coast for the weekend with two friends. Of course you intend to split the shared costs evenly. One option is to put your share into every purchase but this means you’re using cash or loosing count.
Another option is you take turns to pay and this requires tricky balancing of the purchases amongst your friends. Calc My Share does all this for you.
You create an event (a weekend away) and you add any number of people to that event. As each person makes a purchase you record it and the event home page displays summary that shows what each person’s share is to the total of all purchases. It displays what you’re owed or whether you owe money towards your share of the event.
The summary lets you know who needs to make the next purchase. The aim is, by the end of your event, you only need small change to balance out the costs.
