Q: Why does it need my mobile number and email address?

A: These details are required to provide notification updates to users in the event of an update during an emergency. For example, users requesting medical support need to be notified after emergency teams respond with medical facilities located nearby.

Mobile numbers and Email addresses are kept private and are not shared outside of this application. Twitter IDs allow crisis responders to reach out to individuals via Twitter.

▌ABOUT THIS APP:

CRISISDirect is a free mobile and web-mapping application to efficiently organize, allocate and deploy, and avail of emergency resources during crisis situations. Crisis Direct continues to provide its services to assist with post-event stabilization operations.

Users can post what they NEED, HAVE and/or can view a map of resources around them. Information submitted is posted on Twitter with details, location and image for use for others providing assistance.

Emergency resource options are medical, food, water, shelter, help and other.

This is a very early edition of our beta version of the application and we appreciate all feedback!
