CL SmartCatalog is an app for the presentation of travel offers like tours, study trips or cruises of travel agencies and tour operators on smartphones and tablet computers. This demo by eample presents the capabilities and base functionalities of Cl SmartCatalog.

The travel descriptions of the demo are fictive. They don't represent real tours. The layout and the structure of the content also are examples. In a real catalog these can be tailored matching very specific requirements.

The travel catalog can be used offline, i.e. the user can grub in the tour catalog anytime also without an active internet connection.

Usually the content of the catalog can be generated out of existing data structures (e.g. XML). text documents and picture files. So with CL SmartCatalog easily a new distribution channel for travel offers can be used.

Search functionality

Within the app the user can search travels for country, travel category and time period. Also a text search is integrated. So the user can search for tours, which include a specific location. Another search function allows to search for arbitrary terms contained in the travel description or the description of the tour segments. In any case the app as a result the app generates a selectable list of all travel offers matching the search criteria.

Other specific search criteria can be integrated on demand.

The app can use any tour related information, which is stored locally on the device in a database.

Maps and images

Each tour description includes (if existing) a tour map and images assigned to the tour. So e.g. it is possible one-to-one the images used in the webpage presentation of a tour can be used, which ensures compliance of the app catalog to print and internet media as much as possible.

Link to booking

Within the price&dates page of a tour the user can directly navigate to a booking page (if provided). In this case of course an internet connection is required.

Tour basket

The user can mark specific tours for a basket. So she can easily navigate to her tour favorites int the catalog.

Notes

For each tour the user can add text notes and revisit them any time later on.

Tour recommendation via SMS

For each tour the user can send a tip to friends via SMS by pressing one button. This SMS includes a link to the installation of the SmartCatalog, so that the resipient easily can install it and view the tour information. So potentially a further distribution of the tour catalog can be achieved.

Catalog updates and individual catalogs

The content of the SmartCatalog can be actualized any time. The user is informed about an available catalog update and simply can download it. It is alos easily possible to compile and distribute individual tour catalogs e.g. for specific customer groups.
