The Canadian Biosafety Standards and Guidelines (CBSG), 1st Edition, 2013 replaced the previous biosafety standards and guidelines pertaining to human and terrestrial animal pathogens, toxins, and prions. The CBSG, developed by the Public Health Agency of Canada (PHAC) and the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), is used to verify the ongoing compliance of facilities where infectious material or toxins are handled or stored, and for the certification or recertification of containment zones.

The free CBSG App lets you see the CBSG in a different way: You can find the containment requirements specific to your facility!
