BetterDeskClock is a simple desk-clock app that runs as a screen-saver on your phone.

Back in the late 90’s, when simple cellphones ruled the earth, I used to take a glance at my phone whenever I wanted to know the time. These days are over, and smart phones don’t have this feature. If you’re like me, you’ll enjoy this app. This is the first and only app, as far as I know, that lets you set your desk clock as a true screen-saver. The app will launch automatically once the screen is turned off so the clock is always available to you without the need to manually launching the app.

Power-consumption is minimal and it comes with power-saving features. Also, while app is running the screen is locked and all possible (except for HOME button, which technically cannot be reprogrammed in Android) keys are disabled to prevent waking up accidently in your pocket.
