This particular app was created by the National Pitching Association (NPA) in collaboration with the Rod Dedeaux Research & Baseball Institute (RDRBI) to give baseball athletes an easy-to-follow workout protocol that can be done on a typical field without any necessary equipment.The goal is to get throwers, particularly pitchers, to properly warm-up and condition their arm and body before taking the field. Although throwing a baseball is very taxing on the elbow and shoulder, research by the NPA and RDRBI has shown that with some simple whole-body exercises, the risk for injury is dramatically reduced, especially for pitchers.
