McBSA is the first windows phone application published under the series “Medical Calculators”. It calculates BSA and BMI for adults (age 19 and older).
• McBSA calculates the Body Surface Area (BSA) using Mosteller formula and the Body Mass Index (BMI).
• Application calculates the BSA and BMI using either Metric or British unit system.
• The application displays the calculated BMI and gives the category to which the user belongs to, among the 4 categories and each category is given a color. The categories and colors are as:
Category Value Color
Underweight <= 18.5 Red
Normal weight 18.5 – 24.9 Green
Overweight 25.0 – 29.9 Orange
Obesity >=30 Red
It is very useful checking one's fitness based on the Body Mass Index value and the category to which he/she belongs.
