Help the FBI track down International Art Crime and become a member of a growing International Community of Detectives! The Art Theft mobile application is the leading source of art theft data internationally.
Via the FBI:
"The National Stolen Art File (NSAF) is a database of stolen art and cultural property from the archives of the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Stolen objects are submitted for entry to the NSAF by law enforcement agencies in the U.S. and abroad. When an object is recovered, it is removed from the database. However, be aware that not all recoveries are reported to the NSAF. If you have information on a work of art in the NSAF, please use the FBI.gov tip line to report it. "
The Gardner Museum is offering a $5 million reward "for information that leads directly to the recovery of all of our items in good condition. What that means is that you don’t have to hand us the paintings to be eligible for the reward." Search the app for rare paintings by Rembrandt and Vermeer and use the Tips integration to report your data directly to the FBI.
There is much data that is 'not provided' or that no pictures exist in the FBI file, the Art Crime data will be updated as it becomes available.
Please report any issues you may run have, and suggest features you would like to see.
