Alim – Quran, Hadith, and Islamic Knowledge Software is brought to you by the Alim Foundation Inc., a non-profit organization created by the same team behind the Alim CD-ROM software for Windows. Alim.org is the next evolution of that project, creating a new medium for Islamic knowledge enthusiasts to research, study, teach, and discuss Islam.

The Alim Foundation seeks to create software and services that are beneficial to humanity, especially to Muslim children and adults. Our intention is to use technology to help enhance and streamline any work or efforts undertaken by Muslims. Our first project, Alim.org, is meant to serve as an Islamic educational tool, a social network for Muslims and a general purpose portal which provides information about social services, events, news and opinions that are of interest to Muslims.

Alim – Quran, Hadith and Islamic Knowledge Software consists of basically six function blocks followed by a splash screen. Each block takes the user to the corresponding functionality. The application requires connectivity to Internet through WiFi, 3G or 4G.

Search Alim.org

The search section has two search functionality to search from Alim.org

• Normal Search

• Advanced Search

In the advanced search, a user can search with categories. The search can also be done book wise. A “select all” option is also provided. From the searched results, a user can navigate to the corresponding result section, where it will show the detailed description about the result.

Goto Quran

In the Quran section, the user can view the Surah and Ayah in the following views by entering appropriate values in the fields.

• Compare Translation view

• Arabic view

• Mus’haf view

• Asad view

• Malik view

• Yusuf Ali view

• Pickthall view

Goto Hadith

In the Hadiths section, a user can enter the Book name, Volume and Hadith number to view the corresponding Hadiths with a provision to view the previous and next Hadith as well.

Goto Recitation

In the Recitations section, a user can recite a single Ayah by entering values in Ayah and Surah fields and selecting a reciter. For playing the full Surah, a user can select the Surah without entering the value in the Ayah field and then selecting a reciter.
